THE "PRELESNE" PROJECT

A project for a private two-story house with a basement, terrace, and a two-car garage in the urban-type settlement of Prelestne, Kharkiv Oblast, was, like all our projects, unlike any other.

The project's distinguishing feature was the client's desire to continue construction based on the existing geometry of the basement, built about 15 years ago.

After the examination and measurements, it was decided to keep the basement and start designing the house based on it.

The project site on the bank of the Nemyshlya River has an elongated rectangular shape with a sloping terrain towards the water.

Located on the crest of the terrain, the existing basement allowed for rational space zoning and interaction with the landscape.

The house, along with the garage, is situated across the plot and separates the entrance area and street from the private recreation zone, which extends from the house's terrace to the water.

The volume of the main superstructure was erected from gas concrete with the subsequent installation of a ventilated facade and finishing with fiber cement panels that imitate natural materials.

In the existing basement, a sauna with a lounge and a billiards room has been set up.

The visual axis of the first floor runs through the entrance area to the bright kitchen-living room space and flows into a covered terrace with a wonderful view of the garden.

The second floor houses the sleeping quarters and a study.

Construction work at the site was in full swing throughout 2021, and we actively supervised the execution of the work. The continuation of construction was planned for the spring of 2022, but the full-scale invasion of Russia, unfortunately, postpones the further development of the project until Ukraine's victory.
