THE “PERVOMAYSK-AGRO” PROJECT

  • Function: Administrative and utility building, weighbridge, transformer substation
  • Location: Pervomaisk, Ukraine
  • Area: 1064 m²
  • Status: Project in progress, 2019.
  • Team: Serhiy Lemekhov, Mykyta Honcharenko
  • Client: Pervomaysk-Agro
  • Construction Type: Facade Renovation

This project emerged after the completion and commissioning of the «Likhachevsky Elevator,» which is located in close proximity.

With the background of a new, modern, and beautiful elevator building complex, the neighboring enterprise with its Soviet-era appearance started to look a bit odd.

And the management of «Pervomaisk-Agro» turned to us for help in creating new, modern, and inexpensive facades for the administrative and utility building, checkpoint, transformer substation, and new weigh-house building.

In addition, there was another goal – and that was, of course, energy saving. Its function, similar to the Likhachevsky elevator, is the storage and processing of grain.

The coloring solutions at this enterprise have developed their own color palette, unlike the neighboring elevator. The main colors are beige and blue.

To introduce the general concept and the similarity of neighboring objects, dark graphite gray was proposed as a unifying color. The visualizations show that thanks to this solution, both neighboring complexes are identical, not only due to identical materials but also due to the application of this color.

Additionally, the window frames clad in blue and graphite composite panels served as the link that ensured the similarity of the two complexes. Replacing the roofing material from ordinary galvanized sheet metal to graphite also added style and elegance to the overall appearance.

Corrugated and trapezoidal sheets were also used as inexpensive facing materials: horizontal and vertical orientation on the walls and along the slopes on the roof.

Given the asymmetric composition of the entire ensemble, the entrance groups of the main and courtyard facades were also made asymmetric, with L-shaped canopies and modern strip lights made of LED profiles.

Fences and sliding gates, by analogy with the Likhachev elevator, were decided to be made of transparent sectional welded mesh, which added a sense of lightness and openness to the entire object.
