THE “ELEVATOR” PROJECT

The history of this facility is very interesting. In 2017, a client approached us with a project for designing a grain elevator. The task was interesting because it was entirely new construction, not an adaptation of an existing function or old buildings. Furthermore, the client turned out to be a very energetic, active person, and also had a sense of humor. This made it even more engaging to develop the entire complex of elevator buildings, rather than just one fragment or building. The master plan shown below further clarifies the scale of the project. The cherry on top was the design of the interiors of the administrative and utility building, which can be viewed in the section Interiors of our website.

The customer's proactive energy became the main determining factor that it took only NINE MONTHS from a «bare» field to the opening and acceptance of grain!!! That is, by the 2018 harvest, the elevator began accepting grain. In my practice, no one has ever met such deadlines on such a scale. By the way, we were designing concurrently with the construction.

We managed to find a concept that we could apply to all the company's facilities. These are the principles of form-making, materials, and color combinations. Thanks to these solutions, the entire object looks modern, stylish, and beautiful. And thanks to the use of yellow, green, and graphite colors, it very clearly demonstrates an allegory with an agrarian theme, farming, and «breadmaking.» And what's most interesting is that all our solutions have been brought to life, and we really like the result!

Modern landscaping with lawn and thuja trees has been implemented in front of the main facade, giving the facility a resemblance to European businesses, especially against the backdrop of the district center. The fences and sliding gates were made of transparent sectional welded mesh, which added a sense of lightness and openness to the entire facility.

Currently, it is a growing enterprise that successfully handles a considerable grain turnover, partly thanks to the railway line that ensures large shipment volumes. As a result of successful development since our photo shoot, eight more grain storage «silos» have appeared on the site!
