The restaurant «Kinoshnik» occupies the first floor of a residential building at 4 Kosmicheskaya Street in Kharkiv.

Since the building's construction in the 1950s until the end of the last century, this building housed a cinema club with an outdoor cinema and a dance floor. Since the mid-2000s, the premises stood closed until 2018 when it was purchased by a young family couple, and from that moment on, it gradually came back to life.

A client approached us with an interior design project created by the talented designer Denys Belenko. We were tasked with developing the working project for architectural and structural solutions, the technological section, the facade finishing passport, and the master plan. In addition to providing direct instructions for the builders, the project was also needed for navigating approvals with various authorities.

Since the premises were adapted for a completely different function, a number of reconstruction and strengthening measures for the existing structures had to be applied to accommodate the restaurant. New openings, staircases, balconies, floors, walls, and partitions were needed. We developed all of this in accordance with current norms and regulations.

During reconstruction, the original architecture of the site was preserved as much as possible and even thoughtfully supplemented and improved.

The restaurant has advantageously highlighted the house's architecture, as the facades have been restored and the adjacent territory has been landscaped. This includes a summer terrace with a swimming pool and patios, as well as parking for restaurant guests. Additionally, landscaping and planting a large number of plants and shrubs have been carried out.

At the request of the architecture department, we had to undertake a separate large project – the facade finishing passport for the entire building and the development of its night lighting, although the restaurant's facade constitutes no more than ten percent of the total building volume.
