  • Construction type: New

Zarafshan is the place where the construction of the Sheet Glass Plant in Uzbekistan was planned and undertaken.

By the way, for general information, Ukraine does not produce glass, it only imports it. Perhaps in some time we will also be buying Uzbek glass. Although for the development and independence of our country's economy, this is not the last enterprise in the state, and probably, our country should have such a plant of its own.

This is a large-scale enterprise with a vast territory and a complex technological process. Therefore, the architectural design of such production enterprises and industrial buildings is not the easiest, but a quite engaging and interesting pursuit, as everything is very logical, rational, and ultimately forms a correct and organic structure. In this case, the design is determined by strict technological requirements and regulatory documents. And if it's also possible to give it an attractive appearance, then it's a complete success. In this project, we managed to combine all of the above.

We were involved in the development of the architectural section of the design project for the power unit building with a nitrogen production section, as well as the energy bridge connecting the main production building and the power unit. The situation is shown quite clearly in the visualization.

The project needed to be completed on a tight deadline. We completed our task in four months! That's very little time for such a project.

A power unit is a building whose name corresponds to its function. That is, it is a place for the creation, processing, and distribution of energy resources. Here you will find: a nitrogen production unit with a control room, a water cooling station with cooling towers, electrical switchgear and transformer substations, utility rooms, workshops, and a diesel generator. At first glance, such a large amount of technological equipment seemed very frightening and intimidating.

A power bridge is a structure over a passage connecting the main production building for glass production and the Power Unit. It is intended for the transit and servicing of essential substances involved in and accompanying glass production – namely, nitrogen, hydrogen, water, and compressed air, as well as various wiring.

The seismicity of the design area, rated at 7 points, determined special conditions for the project development. This required a detailed study of the relevant regulatory documents, which set special requirements for the design of building structures in such areas.

This project is now implemented. In the fall of 2022, the factory began producing glass.
